【In memory of my student】
Every year, we get all kinds of students and we prepare them for public examinations.
We hope that with guidance, they can face these exams with ease and confidence.
I always enjoy the challenge of teaching students.
Last year, I am proud to say that my students did well in the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examinations.
To me, what is important is not the number of As the students score but the fact that they pass all eight subjects.
Every student even those in the last class passed all eight subjects last year.
That is something great indeed!
I remember one of my students clearly.
His name was Lim Chia Hoe and he was a bright student.
I expected him to score five As in the PMR.
He managed to score two As - in English Language and Mathematics and Bs in Bahasa Melayu and Science.
He could only take four subjects as he passed away on Oct 6 last year.
He was involved in a hit and run accident when he went out durinf the break.
He could not even sit for the paper in the afternoon.
I remember how sad I felt when I heard the news at 1.30pm that day.
It is not the number of As I think he could have scored that makes me sad,
but it is the fact that a life was lost within just a few minutes that is so heart breaking.
I remember how all his classmates and friends from the remove classes went for his funeral although they had a paper next day.
He was in everyone's thoughts as he was a friend to everyone in class.
When I saw his classmates doing so well in last year's PMR examinations,
I just felt sad that he was not there with them.
May his soul rest in peace.
